WYVISNET.com features live images and current air quality conditions from monitoring locations throughout the State of Wyoming. Digital images from live sites are updated every 15 minutes. In addition, near real-time air quality data provide current meteorological, air quality and visibility information to the public.

Site Descriptions

Boulder

The Boulder air quality monitoring site is located in Sublette County, approximately 4 miles southeast of the town of Boulder. This station began operation in February of 2005 and is funded cooperatively by Shell Rocky Mountain Production and WDEQ-AQD. A digital camera, nephelometer, ozone analyzer, oxides of nitrogen analyzer, continuous PM10 monitor and meteorology equipment are located at this site.

   

Campbell County

The Campbell County air quality monitoring station is located in a coal-bed methane development area 15 miles south of Gillette. The station began operation in June of 2003. An ozone analyzer, oxides of nitrogen analyzer, two PM10 monitors and meteorology equipment are located at this site. The station was equipped with a digital camera in the Spring of 2009.

   

Cloud Peak

The Cloud Peak Wilderness Area visibility monitoring station is located just east of the Big Horn Mountains, approximately 14 miles west of Buffalo. The site began operation in February of 2001. A digital camera, transmissometer, ambient nephelometer, meteorology equipment and an IMPROVE aerosol sampler are located at this site.

   

Daniel

The Daniel South air quality monitoring site is located in Sublette County, approximately 5 miles south of the town of Daniel. This station began operation in July of 2005. This site includes a digital camera, ozone analyzer, oxides of nitrogen anylyzer, continuous PM10 monitor and meteorology equipment.

   

Jonah

The Jonah air quality monitoring site is located in Sublette County, approximately 40 miles northwest of Farson, approximately 7 miles west of Highway 191. This station began operation in January of 2005. The digital camera, ozone analyzer, oxides of nitrogen analyzer, continuous PM10 monitor and meteorology equipment located at this site were purchased by EnCana Oil and Gas (USA), Inc.

   

Murphy Ridge

The Murphy Ridge air quality monitoring station is located southwest of the town of Bear River. This station began operation in December 2006. Monitoring equipment includes an ozone analyzer, oxides of nitrogen analyzer, sulfur dioxide analyzer, carbon monoxide analyzer, PM10 monitor and meteorology sensors. The station was equipped with a digital camera in May 2007.

   

South Pass

The South Pass air quality monitoring station is located approximately 5 miles northeast of South Pass City. This station began operation in January 2007. A digtal camera, ozone analyzer, oxides of nitrogen anylyzer, sulfer dioxide analyzer, PM10 monitor,meteorology equipment, and an IMPROVE aerosol sampler (Modules B & C only) are located at this site.

   

Thunder Basin

The Thunder Basin National Grasslands visibility and air quality monitoring station is located approximately 32 miles north of Gillette. The site became operational in May 2001. A digital camera, transmissometer, ambient nephelometer, meteorology equipment, ozone analyzer, oxides of nitrogen analyzer and an IMPROVE aerosol sampler are located at this site.

   

Wamsutter

The Wamsutter air quality monitoring station is located approximately 2 miles west of Wamsutter. The station began operation in March 2006. Monitoring equipment includes an ozone analyzer, oxides of nitrogen analyzer, sulfur dioxide analyzer, PM10 monitor and meteorology sensors. At this time, the station is not equipped with a digital camera. The static image shown depicts the monitoring station configuration.
